July is:

July is juvenile arthritis awareness month.  Juvenile arthritis is also known as pediatric rheumatic disease.  There are several types of juvenile arthritis.  Some of the more common symptoms are pain, joint swelling, redness and warmth.  Each type of juvenile arthritis has its own unique traits/symptoms.  Juvenile arthritis can involve the eyes, skin, muscles and gastrointestinal tract.

The best way to diagnose juvenile arthritis is by having a physical exam and a thorough medical history.

There is no cure for juvenile arthritis.  The main goal for treatment is to manage the pain and relieve the inflammation process.  This can be obtained thru medication, physical activity, healthy eating and eye care.
